Hi! I'm Abigail.
I'm a recent graduate of Simmons University, having pursued an ambitious major in Journalism with minors in Political Science and Social Media. I initiated my journey at Simmons University in the Fall of 2022 as a Presidential Scholar, where I was quickly onboarded as Staff Writer for the university's student-led publication, The Simmons Voice. From September 2022 to September 2025, I wrote and edited for The Simmons Voice, continuously contributing diverse literary pieces ranging from pop culture commentaries to urgent humanitarian suggestions while serving in various roles up to Editor-in-Chief. I also studied abroad in Prague, Czechia during Spring 2025 and hosted a weekly radio show on Simmons Radio, The Shark, for two years. In May 2025, I was the proud Lead Admissions Ambassador for Simmons University. Most recently, I fulfilled my ambitions of serving as the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Spring 2026 Communications Intern, which ended promptly in May prior to my first full-time position as a Creative and Print Associate for Xerox in June 2026 upon college graduation.
A graduate of Century High School in June 2022, I demonstrated an incredible academic capacity early in my career, concurrently completing advanced journalism courses from New York University and Boston University in combination with on-level classwork, including my attendance of the Crimson Journalism Summit hosted by the Harvard Crimson in March 2021. Embracing freelance editorial and communications work beginning in August 2021, I further excelled as Podcast Host and Writer/Editor for Focus on Women Magazine, an international women's publication refined by my talents in content creation, digital media, and administrative obligations. Complementing my extensive background in social media marketing, I uphold additional certifications in Content Marketing and SEO.
In addition to my editorial strengths, I have exercised remarkable political strategy and versatility by serving as a Senior Internal Member and, later, the Senior Communications Advisor for the "Jain for Congress" congressional campaign from May 2021 to 2024. My commitment to sociopolitical and public service emboldened as I achieved the rank of Legislative Intern for the U.S. House of Representatives, assisting in the Office of Congressman John Sarbanes from May to August 2023. Following a successful 2023 internship, I returned to the Office of Sarbanes for a second Summer. I also previously worked at the Office of Representative Brandy Fluker-Reid, School The World, and Access Framingham TV in addition to Focus on Women Magazine. These internships have helped me gain experience in reporting, editing, marketing, social media, graphic design, content creation, digital media, and communications.
My commitment to social advocacy is further evident in my local ambitions, as my former experience as the Director of Operations for the Caring for Our Community Club multiplied into my becoming an active ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation as a chronic illness survivor. I also volunteer at The Needham Channel, supporting their weekly newscasts—which means you might catch me on camera! If I'm not serving as an anchor, I'm behind a camera, operating a teleprompter, managing audio, or floor directing. In more recent years, I also exacerbated my human rights pursuits by working as a Reporting Intern for the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism, trying my hand at video packages for newscasts as a Multimedia Journalism Intern for the Needham Community Television Development Corporation, and formerly stepping in as a newscast host as a City Hall Beat Reporting Intern for Access Framingham.
While spending Summer 2025 at The Needham Channel and Access Framingham, I covered housing affordability within the City of Framingham along with school committee meetings, in addition to Nicotine-Free Generation legislation in Needham and municipal policy in both towns and cities by contributing written and video content. I have experience overseeing newsroom operations, excel in breaking news, and am especially proud of my coverage when then-President Biden dropped out of the 2024 general election. In addition, I have two published personal essays in grain of salt magazine.
I have always wanted to be a storyteller, and my biggest dream is to pursue a career in political or healthcare communication. My interests are diverse: I love to apply the history, theory, and systemic approaches of government that I learn about in political science to news articles, and I have a true passion for reviewing Broadway shows. I work effectively in a rushed environment and, with my proven leadership skills, will work well in any team.
Outside my professional and academic pursuits, I am an avid reader, writer, traveler, educator, and musician with passions for journalism and political reporting. I have logged over 600 community service hours throughout my career. In my free time, I love to read, travel, go for walks, cook and bake, and play the piano. I also run a small business focused on charcuterie boards, grazing tables, and baked goods for everything from casual gatherings to elaborate weddings, so I will happily provide snacks for any team meetings or events.
